ہمارے اپنے قلم کی صداقتیں بھی گئیں


جو آئے جی میں پکارو مجھے، مگر یوں ہے

کہ اس کے ساتھ ہی اسکی محبتیں بھی گئیں


عجیب موڑ پہ ٹھہرا ہے قافلہ دل کا

سکون ڈھونڈنے نکلے تھے وحشتیں بھی گئیں


یہ کیسی نیند میں ڈوبے ہیں آدمی امجد

کہ ہارتھک کے گھروں سے قیامتیں بھی گئیں

ٹوٹ بٹوٹ کے دو مُرغے تھے
دونوں تھے ہُشیار




اِک مُرغے کا نام تھا گیٹو


اِک کا نام گِٹار




اِک مُرغے کی دُم تھی کالی


اِک مُرغے کی لال




اِک مُرغے کی چونچ نرالی


اِک مُرغے کی چال




اِک پہنے پتلُون اور نیکر


اِک پہنے شلوار




اِک پہنے انگریزی ٹوپی


اِک پہنے دستار




اِک کھاتا تھا کیک اور بِسکٹ


اِک کھاتا تھا نان




اِک چباتا لونگ سپاری


ایک چباتا پان




دونوں اِک دن شہر کو نِکلے


لے کر آنے چار




پہلے سبزی منڈی پہنچے


پھر لنڈے بازار




اِک ہوٹل میں انڈے کھائے


اِک ہوٹل میں پائے




اِک ہوٹل میں سوڈا واٹر


اِک ہوٹل میں چائے




پیٹ میں جُوں ہی روٹی اُتری


مُرغے ہوش میں آئے




دونوں اُچھلے، ناچے، کُودے


دونوں جوش میں آئے




اِک بولا میں باز بہادُر


تُو ہے نِرا بٹیر




اِک بولا میں لگڑ بگھیلا


اِک بولا میں شیر




دونوں میں پھر ہُوئی لڑائی


ٹھی ٹھی ٹُھوں ٹُھوں ٹھاہ




دونوں نے کی ہاتھا پائی


ہی ہی ہُوں ہُوں ہاہ




اِک مُرغے نے سِیخ اُٹھائی


اِک مُرغے نے ڈانگ




اِک کے دونوں پنجے ٹُوٹے


اِک کی ٹُوٹی ٹانگ




تھانے دار نے ہنٹر مارا


چِیخے چُوں چُوں چُوں




ٹوٹ بٹوٹ نے گلے لگایا


بولے کُکڑوں کُوں

کوئی شعر نیا کوئی بات نئی کہنے کا جتن کرتے رہنا
انمول ہے پل پل جیون کا آہیں یوں ہی نہ بھرتے رہ جانا
کچھ کام نہیں آتی آہیں چلنے سے سمٹتی ہیں راہیں
تقدیر پہ کیا تہمت یاروبیٹھے بیٹھے دھرتے رہنا
سر ڈال کے چلتے رہنے سےکچھ اور بھی اونچی ہوتی ہیں
دیواریں تو دیواریں ہیں دیواروں سے کیا ڈرتے رہنا
دنیا کو گر سلجھا لیں گےہر منزل کو ہم پا لیں گے
اک زلف کے غم میں کیا "جالب" جیتے رہنا مرتے رہنا

ACHA KHASA BETHAY BETHAY GUM HO JAATA HON

اچھا خاصا بیٹھے بیٹھے گم ہوجاتا ہوں
اب میں اکثر میں نہیں رہتا تم ہو جاتا ہو

mai janta hu aisa bhi ek daur aye ga

میں جانتا تھا ایسا بھی اک دور آئے گا
دیوان بھی مرا ، تو ہر اک سے چھپائے گا

پوچھے گا جب کوئی ترا دکھ ، ازراہِ خلوص
تو اس کو دوسروں کے فسانے سنائے گا

جو بات بھولنے کی ہے یاد آئے گی تجھے
رکھنا ہے جس کو یاد اسے بھول جائے گا

دل سوختہ ملے گا تجھے جب کوئی کہیں
شدت سے ایک شخص تجھے یاد آئے گا

چھوڑا ہے اس کا شہر فقط اس خیال سے
جب ہم نہ ہوں گے اور وہ کس کو ستائے گا

اس نے بھی کر لیا ہے یہ وعدہ کہ عمر بھر
کچھ بھی ہو ، اب وہ دل نہ کسی کا دکھائے گا
