This is our hotel. The Crowne Plaza in northern Shanghai
On the way back we saw the locals doing dancing lessons on the streets and kids taking part in a rollerblading class encouraged by their very proud parents.
We chose to keep things simple and headed into the nearest downtown area (Shanghai is so vast it has several)
en route watch out for motorbike riders who prefer to travel on the pavement rather than the road
The centrepiece of the area is the Big Egg, an amazing light display over a pedestrian intersection.
A couple of movie posters at the local multiplex
Nice T-Shirt, just a shame they only came in Chinese sizes.
We were welcomed into the amusement arcade by Doraemon. I guess this is one Japanese import the don't mind having in China!
Some rather large prizes to be won in the games.
A rather run down looking Disney store in the main mall. Legitimate?

Cue Mick Jagger & David Bowie
More matrix lighting!
