Adjacent to Tianjin Zoo is Tianjin Water Park. It's not a water park as we know it but a garden type park on the side of a lake, a very beautiful one at that.
Solitary boat enjoying the water.
Gang of boats enjoying the docks.
Tianjin Tower is close by and marks the centre of the city.
At the north end of the gardens are two coasters, a large SLC (which I had found had been built after the trip had been announced) and another mouse ride. Both were not running; the SLC had been built but the gardens and paths still had to be laid.
The second coaster was just tied up, with no reason given for why it couldn't be opened. C'est la vie!
The water splash ride was attracting a huge crowd of locals who, given by their response, hadn't seen such an attraction before. The sound of "ooooooh" and laughing could be heard a distance away every time the boat hit the water. It was interesting how we take these rides for granted but here they're a big deal.
To kill some time we took the Ferris Wheel to get a view over the lake and park before heading over to the large tower close by.
Seeking some shade.
Tianjin Water Park is located in the south-west corner of the city, west of the tower and north of the zoo.
