A view from the border bridge with American Falls on the left and Horseshoe falls straight ahead. The tower on the left is the observation platform and elevator to the Maid of the Mist.
The border crossing takes place on a bridge over the river. Getting over into Canada was easy, getting back into the US takes longer and costs you 50 cents, so be sure to keep a couple of quarters...and of course don't forget your passport.
Obvious sign is obvious.
These are the lights that colour the waterfall. These were more exciting to Jeppe and Darren who disappeared for a bit to check them up close.
On the Canadian side there's also an observation wheel, which we didn't ride deciding instead to take the Skylon Tower.
and this is the tower. It's very touristy with kid games underneath it and a couple of 3D cinema type shows, but the view is great. Be prepared for a really awful wait to get back down, we ended up running downstairs to the revolving restaurant floor and catching a lift with the smartly dressed patrons, probably spoiling their perfect evenings.
A view of downtown Niagra Falls, Canadian side.
My favourite shot of the falls, taken with a slightly longer exposure.
This is Bruce the Moose found in the gents at the back of a gift shop just inside the Canadian border. Quite a surprise to walk in and my introduction to Canadian humour.
