words of wisdom from our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)

FOLLOWING are some words of wisdom from our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

· The Muslim is he from whose tongue and hand fellow Muslims are safe, and the emigrant is he who abandons what Allah has prohibited. (Bukhari)

· None of you believes till I am dearer to him than his father, his child and all mankind. (Bukhari, Muslim)

· He who is not trustworthy has no Faith, and he who does not keep his covenant has no religion. (Baihaqi)

· What is Faith? When your good deed pleases you and your evil deed grieves you, you are a believer. What is sin? When a thing disturbs (the peace of) your heart, give it up. (Ahmad)

· The major sins are associating other objects of worship with Allah, disobedience to parents, murder, and deliberate perjury. (Bukhari, Muslim)

· There are three signs of a hypocrite: When he speaks he speaks lies, when he makes a promise he breaks it, and when he is trusted he betrays his trust. (Bukhari)

· Avoid the seven noxious things. Associating anything with Allah, practicing magic, taking a life that Allah has declared inviolate without a just cause, devouring usury, consuming the property of an orphan, running away from the battlefield and slandering chaste women who are believers but heedless. (Bukhari, Muslim)

· When a man dies no further reward is recorded for his actions, with three exceptions: Sadaqa which continues to be given, or knowledge from which benefit continues to be reaped, or the prayers of a good son for his dead father. (Muslim)

· If anyone removes (one of the) anxieties of this world from a believer, Allah will remove (one of the) anxieties from him on the Day of Resurrection; if one smoothes the way for one who is destitute, Allah will smooth the way for him in this world and the next; and if anyone conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in this world and the next. Allah helps a man as long as he helps his brother. If anyone pursues a path in search of knowledge Allah will thereby make easy for him a path to paradise. (Muslim)

· He who goes out in search of knowledge is in Allah’s path till he returns. (Tirmidhi, Darimi)

· The search for knowledge is an obligation laid on every Muslim. (Ibn Majah, Baihaqi)

· The one who would have the worst position in Allah’s sight on the Day of Resurrection would be a learned man who did not profit from his learning. (Darimi)

· A man is granted supplication provided he does not ask for anything sinful or for breaking ties of relationship. (Muslim)

· You should have two characters which Allah likes; gentleness and deliberation. (Muslim)

· Nothing but supplication averts the decree, and nothing but righteousness prolongs life. (Tirmidhi)

· People will not sit remembering Allah without the angels enveloping them, mercy covering them, peace descending on them. (Muslim)

· He who remembers his Lord and he who does not are like the living and dead. (Bukhari, Muslim)

· A time will come to mankind when man will not care whether what he gets comes from a lawful or an unlawful source. (Bukhari)
